Arbitration and ADR become important due to the public’s need of dispute resolution medium which is fast, cheap, and with a decision acceptable to all parties. Refering to Article 6 Paragraph 2 ADR Law, dispute resolution through ADR must be completed No. later than 14 (fourteen) days. For comparison, according to data from the World Bank in its report: "Economy Profile of Indonesia: Doing Business 2020 Indicators", the average time needed to resolve a dispute in court is 430 days. Quite a long period of time.This makes arbitration and ADR as an option which provides flexibility to parties who want disputes to be resolved quickly, beside the fact that dispute settlement in court often takes much time.
